Ratings Help

You have to be careful on the web. It's supposed to be a free medium and you should be able to say what you want. But some people don't see it that way. You also have people that honestly would rather avoid some subject matters. The stories I write cover a wide array of suitability levels, from those that would require only parental guidance for little kids to those only adults should be reading. Therefore, I have implemented a ratings system so people know what they're getting into before they read my stories. In the future, I may implement a way for users to selectively block their browser from certain content, but for now please choose wisely with the help of these ratings.

If you wish to implement these ratings on your web site, please copy them from her web site as I have modified the larger versions of the graphics to be smaller to fit in the heading of my stories without using a TABLE.

		Genral Audiance: Suitable for all ages. Mild cartoon violence. No swearing. No sex. No objectionable content matierial.
		Parental Guidance: Not suitable for younger kids, suitable for older kids with parental guidance. Normal cartoon violence or mild real-life violence. No swearing. No sex. Mild content matierial.
		Teen: Not suitable for kids, suitable for teens and up. Contains cartoon violence or real-life violence. Some swearing, kept to a minimum. Mild sexual situations (kissing, etc.). Some objectionable content material.
		Mature: Not suitable for kids, suitable for teens with parental guidance. Extreme violence, swearing, sexual situations, objectionable content.
		Adult: Suitable for adults only. Same as mature, except at a higher frequency and/or duration and/or detail.

How the ratings are implemented

In each book, you will see something like this:

All ratings will be shown at the top of the description of the book, with ratings that don't apply to any story dimmed. This allows you to quickly judge whether or not you wish to read any stories in the book you have chosen.

After the description of the book, a list of stories will follow, along with their description and rating, like this:

In The Swing of Things

Simion gets mixed up with the law of a culture that's completely different than any he's ever known. Simple concern over the someone's well-being ends up getting Simion caught in the middle of an abusive relationship between a female cheetah and her husband. This is the first adventure for Simion -- where it all begins.

And lastly, as you page through each story, the story's rating will be shown in the top along with the title.
